This is an awesome dessert that is perfect for bringing to a party or event. Since you don’t need a pan, you don’t have to worry about washing dishes or bringing a dish home from an event. After you make the pie, just let it cool down to room temperature and wrap it up in foil. A lot of people think a pie is best eaten when warm, it is actually at its best when it is at room temperature. To make the dough, use a warm butter that is mixed into the dough, while also using cold dough that is folded into the dough. That way the cold dough will create a crispy crust as it bakes. For the filling, use a tart apple (i.e. granny smith apple), cook it with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Don’t over cook the filling or you will burn it since it has a high sugar content, cook it low and slow. Refrigerate your dough and let the filling cool down to room temperature. Once you fold the pie, brush the crust with an egg wash, then sprinkle some sugar to create a shiny glazed crust.
