Last night was my first time going to The Magic Castle in Hollywood. For years I’ve heard about the awesome magic that goes on within that place but unfortunately I never new a magician that was a member to get an invite. Luckily my boss did and as a way of saying thanks he invited the management team for a night out to The Magic Castle… And I have to say in the words of The Magic Castle President (Neil Patrick Harris) “it was legen… wait for it… dary! Now taking pictures and video are strictly prohibited inside, so I was only able to sneak a few pictures during dinner. Going into the night I knew the magic was going to be good but I didn’t know what to expect for the food. I was pleasantly surprised that their food was really amazing. I enjoyed the Prime Rib and it was a great USDA Prime cut that was cooked perfectly. It was so tender and the jus was perfection, not too salty and not too bland.
As a group we shared a few appetizers, shown below are their Deviled Eggs.
and here were the crab cakes.
As much as I want to go on and on with the details about the food and the overall experience at The Magic Castle I am going to restrain myself because part of the wonder of this place is the mystery it possesses. I don’t want to build up the hype then disappoint anyone, just know that this is a restaurant/show that you definitely should go to if given the opportunity. Here are a few words of advice for those that go for the first time:
- they enforce a strict dress code
- no photos inside the castle
- get there early and enjoy the bar
- get seats early for each show
- order the prime rib!
