Sam Woo BBQ Express Review (Irvine, CA)

peking duck

Whenever my wife and I crave Peking duck, we head over to Sam Woo BBQ Express in Irvine, so I figured I would do a quick review with pictures to help wet your appetite.  During the week they have a special on Peking duck for $17 (half order).

Back when Capital Seafood at Irvine Spectrum was just opening, we found this ad for Peking duck and my wife had to take a picture with it. This is how we both feel about Peking duck.

I don’t know what it is about Peking duck, but the combination of a fluffy steamed bun, juicy duck meat, crispy duck skin, fresh green onions and sweet hoisin sauce makes me literally drool .  It’s like a perfect little duck slider!

We’ve found that Peking duck with one more dish is a perfect dinner for the two of us.   Typically we order a vegetable dish to balance out the meal, one of our favorite vegetable dishes is the sauteed black mushroom with Napa cabbage ($9).  Before I conclude my quick Sam Woo BBQ Express review, I wanted to share two other dishes I really like:  Three delicacy on rice (I always get the crispy pork, roasted duck and BBQ pork) and their Roasted Duck with Won-Ton Noodle Soup.  One thing to know is Sam Woo BBQ Express is a CASH ONLY restaurant, so make sure you bring cash.
