Selecting a good quality steak is pretty easy all you have to look for are a few traits:
- Look for meat that is deep red (almost bright red). The more pale the red the less fresh it is. The meat should almost look wet (glisten).
- Good pieces of rib eye steak have lots of marbleization within the meat (see image below for details).
- Look at the expiration date, you always want a steak that was cut either on the same day or at most yesterday (never more than that).
